Targeted pain relief that goes deeper.
Dry needling is a precise, evidence-informed technique we use to release tight or irritated muscles, calm overactive nerves, and speed up healing. It’s one of the many hands-on tools we use at AIO Therapy to support your recovery and get you feeling better, faster.
How does it works?
Don’t worry, despite the name, it’s not acupuncture. Although the tools used are very similar. Dry needling is based on Western medicine principles and targets specific trigger points in your muscles. These spots can cause pain, tension, or even refer pain elsewhere in the body. By inserting fine needles into these points, we stimulate a healing response, reduce tightness, and improve mobility.
Why do we use it?
Dry needling is a great option to aid in the relief of…
Muscle tightness or spasms
Nerve irritation (like sciatica or thoracic outlet syndrome)
Chronic pain or tension
Restricted movement after injury
Headaches or jaw pain related to muscular tension
At AIO Therapy, we often combine dry needling with other techniques like soft tissue work, joint adjustments, cupping, and strength rehab—because no two bodies are the same, and your treatment shouldn't be either. Combining all these therapies into one we believe truly helps our clients the most.
What should you expect?
Sometimes we feel some quick pin-pricks, a twitch or two, and often an immediate sense of release or melting of the muscle which is affecting you, leading to some relief. You may also feel a dull ache during the treatment—that’s normal and a good sign the right spot is being targeted. Some people feel relief right away, while others notice improvement in the hours or days following.
Your session, your goals!
If your focus is to recover from an injury, trying to unlock a stubborn knot, or just want to move better, dry needling can be an incredibly useful part of your care plan. And just like everything we do at AIO Therapy, it's done with your comfort, goals, and progress in mind.
