FAQs
Can I Claim Private Health for Osteopathy?
Yes, you can claim private health for osteopathy if it’s included in your extras cover. AIO - All In One Therapy offers on-the-spot claiming for private consultations, provided your policy covers "Osteopathy." We recommend checking your extras cover, as this can vary between policies.
Important Notes:
We currently do not accept Work Cover, DVA, or TAC patients.
For workplace or group consultations, fees must be paid upfront. An invoice will be provided that includes details such as treatment, additional products, travel/setup costs, and GST.
Remember: You don’t need private health insurance to see an osteopath, but fees must be paid in full if no cover is available.
What Can I Expect on My First Visit with an Osteopath?
Your first visit will include:
Meet and Greet: Building rapport and understanding your concerns.
Thorough Case History: Discussing your medical and personal history to ensure safe and effective care.
Osteopathic Assessment and Examination: A comprehensive evaluation to uncover the root cause of your pain or condition.
Treatment and Exercise Prescription: Hands-on treatment and tailored exercises, as needed.
Osteopaths take a holistic approach, often assessing areas beyond the primary site of pain. For instance, if you have lower back pain, your osteopath may also assess your upper back, hips, legs, and feet to understand contributing factors. As the saying goes, “No structure works independently of another.”
You may also receive lifestyle tips, exercises, or workplace adjustments to help manage and prevent future issues.
What Should I Wear to My Appointment?
For private consultations at our Seaford location, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that can be easily removed if necessary for manual hands-on treatments. Your practitioner may ask you to remove specific items to better assess and treat the affected area.
If you prefer to remain clothed during the session, simply let your practitioner know—they can adjust and work over your clothing to ensure your comfort while still providing effective care. Your comfort and trust are always our priority.
How Will I Feel After My Appointment?
Many people feel immediate relief following their treatment, while others may experience some tenderness. It's common to feel post-treatment soreness, similar to Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) after exercise. This occurs because the treatment targets areas of discomfort and tension.
Any soreness typically resolves within 24–48 hours. If you have concerns or experience prolonged discomfort, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for guidance.
Is the Information I Provide on the New Patient Form Private?
Yes, all the information you provide is strictly confidential and remains between you and your Osteopath. We adhere to privacy laws and maintain the utmost care in safeguarding your personal and medical details.
Are AIO - All In One Therapy Services Tax Deductible?
Tax deductibility varies depending on individual circumstances. Based on our experience, the ATO typically does not allow tax deductions for work wellness services or mobile visits. We recommend consulting a tax professional or the ATO directly to confirm your eligibility.
Can I Schedule Regular Monthly Bookings?
Absolutely! At AIO - All In One Therapy, we encourage regular bookings to help you maintain your health and well-being. You can schedule recurring weekly, monthly or quarterly appointments to ensure consistent care and convenience. Let us know your preferred day and time, and we’ll help secure your spot.
Is Osteopathy Safe?
We’ll work with you to create a plan that suits your concerns and goals. Yes, Osteopathy is a safe and effective treatment. Our osteopaths are fully trained and registered under the AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) guidelines. They undergo 5 years of rigorous university education, covering anatomy, physiology, pathology, and bioscience to ensure they are equipped to assess, diagnose, and treat patients safely. We always prioritize your safety, checking for any warning signs of more serious conditions, and will refer you to a GP or specialist if necessary.
