Cupping Therapy
A gentle way to ease tension, promote healing, and get your body moving again.
At AIO Therapy, cupping therapy is one of the many tools we use to support your recovery and improve how your body feels and functions. Whether you’re dealing with tight muscles, an old injury, or post-operative scarring, cupping can be a gentle but powerful addition to your treatment.
Two types of cupping that can be tailored to you
We offer both suction-based and fire cupping therapy:
Suction cupping uses a vacuum seal to draw up soft tissue, encouraging fresh blood flow and reducing tension.
Fire cupping adds heat to the mix—triggering a thermogenic response that promotes circulation, helps break up deeper layers of restriction, and supports overall recovery. Fire cupping typically takes a bit longer to perform, so we usually recommend it during our longer sessions.
When do we use cupping?
Cupping can be especially helpful for:
Muscle strains and sprains
Chronic tension or stiffness
Post-operative care (to help with scar tissue and fascial restrictions)
Supporting lymphatic flow and circulation
Gently easing sensitive or inflamed areas without aggressive pressure
It’s a great option for when hands-on work needs to be dialed down but you still want a noticeable effect.
What it feels like
Most people describe it as a pulling or tight pressure, never painful, just unusual at first. The area may feel warm and relaxed afterwards, and mild cupping marks are normal (and temporary!). These are the classic swimmers circles you may have seen on the athletes at the olympics.
Combined care that gets results
We often pair cupping with other therapies like dry needling, joint articulation, or strength rehab to make sure we’re treating both the symptoms and the cause. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach, we’ll always talk you through what’s best for your body and your goals.
